This year, we are looking to re-engage our community in Homestead planning and bring back a new version of the Hill and Homestead Preservation Coalition. In 1998, a group of concerned citizens from the North Missoula Community Development Corporation formed the Hill and Homestead Preservation Coalition to preserve the historic homestead and adjacent hillsides as a place to explore human, natural, and agricultural histories. Today, we are looking for Homestead-inspired community members to join our planning team and assist with educational and community programming, fundraising, marketing, and outreach.
The Homestead has continued to evolve over the course of its 20 years as a community historic site and park preserve. We are looking for new and creative ways to engage the public with the site and continue to preserve the homestead values of creative ingenuity, material-reuse, and respect for the land.
Application deadline is Friday, March 8.
