Calling all architects and engineers!
Documentation and condition assessments are critical first steps in the preservation of historic structures. This work requires the use of a variety of tools and methods working together for a comprehensive assessment of the building that will guide future work. Key to their success is having a systematic approach prior to and during the recording process and understanding - where to start, what to look for, and what methods are available.
During this session we will look at the various steps and processes used, the basic recording tools used in the field, how to take the necessary photos, and key areas of structures that one should look at.
The session will break up into small groups and walk through documenting a few of the buildings on Moon-Randolph Homestead. Meet at 1:00 PM at the Homestead, 1515 Spurlock Road.
