Hands-on-the-Land with FVLT

  • Moon-Randolph Homestead 1515 Spurlock Road Missoula, MT, 59802 United States (map)

Come help us get the pig pen ready!

We’ll move fence and a gate to establish a hog run that will reduce erosion and enable the hogs to spend the summer foraging on pasture and rooting out non-native smooth brome, a grass that readily out-competes native vegetation. This project will help us achieve many goals: giving the hogs room to roam and continuing a rotational rooting restoration project that we’ll follow with native plantings. Not only that, but according to the 2025 Farmer’s Almanac, this day just so happens to be one of the best days of the month (astrologically-speaking) for fencing and weeding!
